Smart Tip - Windows 10 End of Life, Upgrade to Windows 11

Windows 10 End of Life: Upgrade to Windows 11 Microsoft will officially retire Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide software updates, technical assistance, or security fixes for Windows 10. While your PC will still function, the lack of security fixes will gradually make it vulnerable. Therefore, it's time to transition to Windows 11. Upgrade Options The best option is to purchase a new Windows 11 computer. Your Windows 10 computer is now at least 4 years old and likely incompatible with Windows 11. You can either purchase a new computer now or start saving and purchase one this fall. If you're unable to purchase a new computer, you can take your computer to a reputable and experienced local computer repair shop to evaluate its potential for a Windows 11 upgrade. Ensure the shop performs a full, fresh installation of Windows 11 and finds compatible drivers, rather than just an upgrade or "overlay" of Windows 11 over your existing Windows 10. No matter what the technician may say, fully installing Windows 11 should require at least a reactivation of your biofeedback software if not more. Important Considerations Continue updating your Windows 10 computer weekly. After October 14, check for any final updates and then shut down your computer to use as a backup. You may temporarily use your Windows 10 computer offline as a short-term solution. However, due to security vulnerabilities, avoid connecting it to the internet. Remember that you won't be able to receive remote technical support and you need to keep your computer offline. Caution Never use the "Free Upgrade to Windows 11" button on the Windows Updates page. This method doesn't properly uninstall Windows 10 or install Windows 11 from scratch, and it doesn't find appropriate drivers. This can lead to cascading glitches and frustration, ultimately requiring a full Windows 11 installation. If you ever get a pop up pushing you to update to Windows 11, always look for a button that says something like "Not right now" or "Stay on Windows 10" or even "remind me later." Anything to deny it. If you don't see such a button, feel free to take a picture and send it to us so we can check. Locate Your Operating System To find out what operating system you are currently using, on a Windows computer, go to Start > Settings > System > About. This will display the edition and version of Windows you are running on your device. Recommendation A new Windows 11 computer is the best option, providing peace of mind and a seamless transition. Our Quantum Computers come with your biofeedback software installed and are optimized for running sessions. For international customers, we recommend using our Quantum Computer specifications as a guide and finding a local seller. Then, book an appointment for remote installation and optimization of your Clasp64 software.
